The Racquet Academy was started in 2001 by John Heuerman, at the time a full-time tennis coach. After noticing his clients kept arriving at lessons with ill-fitting racquets holding back their game, John set out to change that studying everything he could about equipment and building relationships with leading brands along the way.

Demand for his advice soon outgrew the boot of his car. His father Alan joined to build what's now our renowned restringing service, and The Racquet Academy was born.

Today, John runs the business with his daughter, backed by a team of fully qualified tennis coaches who are also specialist-trained equipment advisors.
